Quentin Tarantino reveals the "crazy" reason why "The Movie Critic" was canceled.

Quentin Tarantino discussed the reasons behind his decision to end "The Movie Critic."

The Movie Critic's Quentin Tarantino recently stated that he "wasn't really that excited." The iconic director, who is 62 years old, has said for a long time that he will retire after making his tenth film, and he has also said what his last project will be.

Speaking on The Church of Tarantino podcast, the Kill Bill filmmaker was "very happy" with what he had originally written.

What initially began as an eight-part series turned into a script for a feature film, but ultimately during pre-production, all enthusiasm was lost.

"No one is waiting for this thing per se," he stated. I mean, I can carry it out at any time. I mean, it already exists as written. So, okay, I'll just put it off for now. Let me try writing it as a movie to see if that makes it better. I thought, "Oh, OK, no, I think this is going to be the movie," and I was like that. After that, it wasn't. I pulled the plug on it.  And the reason I pulled the plug, it’s a little crazy,” the Django Unchained creator further mentioned.

In addition, Tarantino stated sardararticle that he "really, really likes" The Movie Critic, but that the publication had presented him with a "challenge." "When I completed it, I set a challenge for myself. Can I make an interesting movie out of the most boring job in the world?” He stated. The award-winning filmmaker opened with, "Every Tarantino title promises so much, except The Movie Critic," adding, "Who wants to see a TV show about a f***ing movie critic? Who would like to see the film The Movie Critic? If I can actually make a movie or a TV show about somebody who watches movies interesting, that is an accomplishment...”

"Quentin Tarantino admitted at the end of the conversation, "I was so excited about the writing, but I wasn't really that excited about dramatizing what I wrote once we were in pre-production."
