Job Overview
An exciting permanent opportunity is available for a Lead Clinical Pharmacist – Specialist Surgical Pharmacist to join the NHS in Ipswich. This full-time role is ideal for an experienced pharmacist who is passionate about leadership, medicines optimisation, sardar article and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care within surgical services.
Role Description
As a senior member of the pharmacy team, you will lead specialist surgical pharmacy services, ensuring the safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medicines. You will work closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams and contribute to service development and patient safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical pharmacy support to surgical departments
- Lead and develop specialist surgical pharmacy services
- Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, and healthcare professionals
- Support medicines optimisation and patient safety practices
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior pharmacy staff
- Participate in clinical governance and service improvement projects
Skills & Experience Required
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy
- Background in surgical or acute care pharmacy (desirable)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
